Located in Lafayette, Louisiana, Saja’s Grooming Salon offers unique, custom pet grooming services with heightened client experiences. This luxurious salon is friendly, affordable and accessible for most. The area around the salon has grown in the past 20+ years, bringing in new potential client demographics. This necessitated a brand redesign with the goal of increased customer acquisition.

Lafayette, Louisiana has a booming economy and has experienced major growth in the past 20 years. 95% of owners think of their pet as family. The Saja’s customer is 75/25 (female/male), median age of 37.5 with a median income of $100k (60% or more are upper income).

THE FACTS

Dog grooming has become a crowded market, and Saja’s must find ways to differentiate branding and visual messaging to stay competitive. In the area, there are five main competitors offering the same range of services and price points to customers.

Typefaces can communicate a variety of meaning. Future customers make assumptions about your business just by the font in your logo and branding without realizing it.

Monoline scripts communicate modernity, balance, class, elegance and stand out in a fashionable way. They appeal to large audiences, especially the millennial customer demographic.

The Heritage Regular typeface is a classy, yet fun monoline typeface that contains a hidden attribute allowing for modification into a brand mascot.

ICONOGRAPHY & MOTIFS

Futura is a modern typeface that communicates progress and innovation. It is a geometric sans serif and is considered to be one of the most important typefaces used today.

Futura features diverse glyphs that work both in body copy and in displays such as computer screens and smart phones. This extensive type family features many weights and can be used in a wide range of applications. Some of the available weights are shown here.

TYPOGRAPHY

Every holiday season, Saja’s Grooming Salon sends out greeting cards with gifts to their loyal customers. To give the newly created mascot (Saja the Dog) a brand presence, we created a custom illustrated card front with hand-lettering. The inside was left blank for personal messaging.
